This shortfall not only raises questions about the manufacturers' understanding of the industry's needs but also poses a significant challenge for potential buyers and contractors, leading to frustration that may hinder decision-making and ultimately discourage potential purchases.
Strategic Decision from SANY
When SANY reached out to FJD through official channels, this global manufacturing giant was grappling with the absence of an on-board intelligent guidance system—a critical issue that has been complained about by buyers, as more and more operators request such smart system to facilitate their excavation and this demand is becoming more urgent.
According to SANY, the reliance on manual operation not only led to inefficiencies but also created a burden of pressure for operators to excavate in the complex terrains. The lack of an intelligent system in the cab has disappointed their machine operators, and they need to partner with a leading provider of such guidance systems.
After a period of trying out some guidance systems of the same kind from big brands on the market, SANY found that their substantial prices were not justified, particularly when coupled with subpar technical support in China and other regions. This reality prompted SANY to consider another alternative—one that promised both cost-effectiveness and reliability.
After industry research and product tryout, SANY sought a strategic partnership with FJD, a company renowned for its innovative precision technologies in digital construction. The partnership combines SANY's expertise in conventional construction machinery with FJD's cutting-edge digital solutions, marking a significant milestone for both companies.

After initial rounds of in-depth communication, FJD decided to let the SANY operators operate an excavator with its advanced smart guidance system in a 100-square-meter test area. This initiative allowed SANY to witness firsthand the capabilities of FJD's guidance system in action.
"We also dispatched two senior engineers for on-site installation, debugging, and training," said Scott Zhao, sales manager of FJD digital construction product. "Such personalized assistance ensured that the SANY team could maximize the capabilities of our system right from the start."
FJD's engineers took the time to walk the operators through each feature, answering any questions and providing practical tips to enhance usability. The SANY team tested all of the features, and they were particularly satisfied with the ease of importing design files into the system to start working quickly.
"Our 3D guidance system quickly won their trust after minutes of hands-on operations, and they were amazed by its simplicity and ease of use, even those with limited skill could operate the system effectively,” explained Zhao. "Our system works perfectly with SANY's excavators on the job site, helping their operators achieve the precise operations they want." 
Operator Insights
"Before using the FJD 3D Guidance System, I often felt upset when facing complex sites and meeting high construction requirements," said one of the SANY operators. "What I could rely on is my own instinct and experience. I'm always worried about making mistakes that could cost more time and money."
SANY's lack of guidance options meant many projects lagged behind, leading to constant frustration among their machine operators. By integrating FJD's 3D guidance technology into their machinery, SANY not only met operators' construction demands but also reduced costs invested in such technology.
"After SANY introduces FJD's system, everything changes. The intuitive interface allows me to get started quickly. Importing design files is quite easier than I think, and that saves me a lot of time," the operator added, after trying out the FJD’s system in the test area.
